Fairness for State Workers: Back Pay Lobby Day

State employees are on the job every day—protecting at-risk kids, maintaining public safety, responding to emergencies, caring for aging veterans, aiding people with disabilities, safeguarding our environment and natural resources, and much more.

AFSCME members are coming together because state employees deserve basic fairness. They deserve to be paid the wages they are owed and to progress as promised in the state step plan. It’s time to make our voices heard. Join the fight!

Back Pay Lobby Day

Thursday, May 10
11 a.m. • 534 S 2nd St, Springfield

Rally at Illinois Federation of Labor, March to Capitol & Lobby Legislators!

SB 2269/HB 4290 appropriate funds needed to pay state employees back wages owed since 2011. We need to pass this legislation with overwhelming majorities so Governor Rauner knows his veto would be overriden. Every legislator should recognize that it is past time to pay off the state’s oldest debt—a debt owed to employees who have been on the job every day doing the work essential to the welfare of our communities.
