Bruce Rauner is out the door. That’s good news for the countless Illinois citizens who were grievously harmed by his vengeance politics, especially the thousands of state employees who were the prime targets of his animus.
"Voters across the state repudiated Rauner and rejected his anti-worker, anti-union agenda up and down the ballot," AFSCME Council 31 Executive Director Roberta Lynch said.
AFSCME-recommended candidates made a clean sweep in statewide contests and gained enough seats in the General Assembly to establish a super-majority in the Illinois House and Senate so that we can advance a working people’s agenda.
