Convention award nominations now open
AFSCME local unions across Illinois have begun preparations for Council 31’s 23rd Biennial Convention, scheduled for October 19-21 in Springfield. As at past conventions, this gathering will honor members who show outstanding dedication to their work and their union.
The Public Service Award is for individuals who exemplify the very best in public service, going the extra mile day in and day out to give public service workers a good name. The Jane Fitzgerald-Gloria Arseneau Award is for the local union activist who demonstrates dedication, spirit, farsightedness, and energy in working to build a strong local union.
Any AFSCME member can nominate a fellow member for either of the biennial awards by submitting one of the following forms by September 28.
