Legislators call for renewed negotiations
A bipartisan group of more than 35 legislators garnered statewide media coverage of their call for renewed negotiations between the Rauner Administration and AFSCME.
At a State Capitol news conference on Wednesday, Nov. 30, more than 35 legislators came together to call for renewed state contract negotiations, pointing out that “a negotiated compromise would provide certainty for the public that relies on state services, for state employees and their families who depend on fair wages and benefits, and for local businesses that fear the loss of economic activity.”
Legislators at the news conference included:
- Senators Bennett, Bush, Biss, Cunningham, Harmon, Holmes, Koehler, Link, Manar, McCann, Mulroe, L. Murphy, Noland and Trotter
- Representatives Andrade, Cassidy, Chapa LaVia, Cloonen, Costello, Davidsmeyer, W. Davis, DeLuca, Evans, Guzzardi, Harper, T. Jones, Martwick, Mayfield, C. Mitchell, Moeller, Phelps, Riley, Scherer, Sims, Skoog, Smiddy, Wallace and Welch.
